Results of Traffic Survey on Club Blvd 8/2026

In late August, members of Bike Durham, the Old West Durham and Watts-Hillandale Hospital Neighborhood Associations, and concerned neighbors met to discuss opportunities to improve safety on West Club for pedestrians and bicyclists. A survey was developed and neighbors in OWD and WHH all had an opportunity to respond over a 10-day period. A number of proposed improvements were supported by respondents. There were 222 respondents. The preferred improvements include: reducing the speed limit to 25 mph; removing the double-yellow centerline from the street; adding parking-protected bike lanes; and adding stop signs at some intersections (specific intersections were not specified).
