For 2011, the board decided to use October’s First Thursday event (Thursday, October 6 at 6 pm, playground side of Oval Park) as our FestOval this year.

We did this for a few reasons:

1. First Thursday was already on the schedule and has proved very popular.
2. Our call for volunteers to help mount FestOval had not yielded enough of a response to help make it a community effort, versus solely a board effort.

In previous years, FestOval was celebrated on a Saturday in the fall, consisting of a popular and sumptuous potluck dinner along with excellent music and dancing. Oval Park was hopping, neighbors brought a favorite dish to share with neighbors, friends and family, and everyone sat, relaxed and listened to the sounds of FestOval’s annual musical centerpiece.
